HELP Scenic Preservation Specific Plan in Jeopardy

Email From: Elaine
Subject: HELP Scenic Preservation Specific Plan in jeopardy
Date: Thursday, October 04, 2001

Are you aware that the PLUM hearing, on this matter, held on September 25th ended without reaching a decision? Whitebird developers were there, five strong, and Bob Sutton, the head of City Planning, acted like their puppet on a string. We are told that now that Wachs has left it is mandatory that we attend the next hearing in large numbers. Massive community support is our only hope of protecting our prominent ridgelines. We need your help. So please plan on attending the next hearing which will be held at the Planning and Land Use Management (PLUM) on October 30th at 2 p.m. We will meet at the Elks and will carpool down. We will leave the Elks at 1:00 p.m. Anyone who is able to drive, please let the Chamber know so we have an idea how many seats will be available for those who do not wish to drive. Anyone who is going to drive should call the Councilman's office at 760-2259 on October 29th and give them the color, make, model and license # of your car, and they will arrange for free parking.

Please write or email regarding your support for the most recent residents' revisions to the plan, telling them that you want to protect the beauty of our scenic corridors. The most recent residents' revisions includes those prominent ridgelines in LVT, La Tuna Cyn, S/T, and Shadow Hills, and it is contrary to the previous revisions which were done by City Planning after being visited by the Whitebird developers.

To write a letter or email a letter to PLUM use the following information. Address your letter to:
Mr. John White, Legislative Assistant
Planning and Land Use Management Committee
200 N. Spring Street, Room 1010

The email address is jwhite@clerk.lacity.org

Refer to the case as follows:
CF 00-1744

Please pass the word. You can call the Chamber for further information at 352-4433 Tues. thru Fri. between 8:00 a.m. 'til noon.
