Hike to see the Canyon Hills propertyEmail from CAP Views Canyon Hills Site View Hike November 22,2003 9:00 -11:30 AM La Tuna Canyon Road near I-210 in Tujunga Canyon Hills is a proposed housing development located at 8000 West La Tuna Canyon Road in Sunland and Tujunga. The site consists of 887 acres of land situated in the Verdugo Mountains and bounded by Verdugo Crestline Drive on the north and La Tuna Canyon Road on the south. The Foothill Freeway (I-210) bisects the project site. The proposed project includes building 280 single-family homes on 194 acres within the site. Come and look at this beautiful open space which is threatened with development. Do you enjoy the rural character of Sunland, Tujunga, Shadow Hills and Lake View Terrace? Do you enjoy the views of the open hills and mountains as you drive, hike or bike through the area? Spend a couple of enjoyable Saturday hours on an easy hike to take a look at what we might lose. It¹s less than 2 miles total walking, and climbs 800 feet. It goes up the canyons and ridges to a hill that overlooks the proposed development site. Bring a hat, sturdy shoes, and plenty of water. We¹ll cancel the hike if it¹s raining significantly. The leaders will provide information about the proposed development.
